Membership Categories

There are a number of options available for MEA Membership dependent on the type and size of your organisation, and your requirements. As well as the full company memberships, there are options for multiple location organisations, In-house meetings managers and international memberships. There are also memberships available for individuals and students, although eligibility conditions apply.

Please note: all fees are Australian dollars and inclusive of GST.

Full Company Memberships

The below options of membership are for companies operating in or supplying the meetings and events industry and.each of these options include the full range of MEA member benefits.


Category A

The Category A membership is for small businesses with between 1 and 5 full-time employees.

Annual Fee: $550

Category B

The Category B membership is for businesses with between 6 and 30 full-time employees.

Annual Fee: $895

Category C

The Category C membership is for larger businesses with more than 30 full-time employees.

Annual Fee: $1140

Multi-site Membership - multiple locations

This category is for organisations operating from multiple locations around the country (example: Hotel Chains), and is a more affordable membership option for this type of organisation. To be eligible for this membership category it is a requirement that a minimum of 75% of the group locations become and remain members of MEA.

The pricing structure is such that the initial or primary location pays the full Category C member rate with additional locations receiving a significant 65% discounted rate, with each location entitled to access the full suite of MEA member benefits.

Annual Fees:

  • Initial/Primary location $1140
  • Each additional location $410

Other Membership Options

The below options of membership are available for companies and individuals not directly operating in or supplying the meetings and events industry. The member benefits applying to these membership types vary depending on the type and requirements of the intended groups.

In-house Meeting Member

This membership category is open to meetings, conference and event organisers who are working with organisations (other than a venue) whose primary business is other than conducting or managing meetings or business events, but employs people who are totally or partly dedicated to managing those meetings or business events.

International Subscriber Member

Suitable for those who are domiciled outside Australia and who have an interest in the Australian meetings and events industry.

Student Member

Enables full-time or part-time students not currently working in the meetings and events industry to be part of the industry association, increasing exposure to the industry and the expansion of industry knowledge through access to the resources contained within the Members Area of the MEA website, receiving MEA communications and receiving discounted member pricing for industry networking and professional development sessions.

Extra Subscriber

The number of persons with administrative access for the membership is limited for each membership. Additional people can be added to an existing company or in-house membership to allow more people to be able to administer the company membership details and Who's Who listing, access the HR advice service, add jobs to the website, receive MEA newsletters and participate as a MEA committee or board member.
Annual Fee: $195 per extra person
